TW1: PARISIAN PURSUITS IN SINGLE ENTITY

Diversity at the University of Paris Diderot suddenly expanded in the Faculty of Chemistry when our group of 15 SENTINEL fellows from across the globe congregated at the Lavoisier building for our first SENTINEL  Training Workshop (TW1).

A week of intense training began on 3rd February with a rotating Knowledge Sharing Wheel where small groups of early stage researchers were able to found out about each other’s background  and projects though question and answer sessions with different supervisors.

The week progressed with science seminars about how to build and use micro and nano electrodes through to practical sessions on electrochemistry experimentation interspersed with some ingenious sessions introducing the fellows to the art of communicating and illustrating science inventively.

Evenings allowed the network to bond as a group over fabulous french cuisine, good wine, super strong coffee and table football! All thanks to some excellent organisation by Dr Frederic Kanoufi and our French hosts at the University of Paris Diderot.
